National EMS Awards of Excellence

The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) and EMS Magazine have established the National EMS Awards of Excellence program to recognize outstanding achievement in the EMS profession.

Other organizations participating include Advocates for EMS (AEMS), the National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE), and the National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA).

The nomination period for the following awards is now closed. The award winners will be recognized at EMS EXPO 2010/NAEMT Annual Meeting in Dallas, TX, September 27-October 1, and profiled in the October issue of EMS Magazine.

1. EMS Magazine Paid EMS Service of the Year sponsored by Ferno
   Recognizes outstanding performance by a paid EMS service.

   

2. EMS Magazine Volunteer EMS Service of the Year sponsored by Firecom
   Recognizes outstanding performance by a volunteer EMS service.

   

3. NEMSMA EMS Executive of the Year sponsored by Nasco

   

4. NAEMT EMT of the Year sponsored by Braun Industries
   Sponsored by Braun Industries, recognizes an emergency medical technician who demonstrates excellence in the performance of emergency medical services, with their primary role being that of prehospital patient care.

   

5. NAEMT Paramedic of the Year sponsored by Masimo
   Sponsored by Masimo, recognizes a paramedic who demonstrates excellence in the performance of emergency medical services, with their primary role being that of prehospital patient care.

   

6. NAEMSE EMS Educator of the Year sponsored by Cengage/Delmar
   Referred to as the "Unsung Hero Award" this award is presented by NAEMSE to an educator from around the world in recognition of their contributions to the EMS community.

   

7. AEMS EMS Legislator of the Year
   Award recipient selected by Advocates for EMS (AEMS).

   

Award recipients will receive a monetary gift and free registration and travel to EMS EXPO 2010, September 29-October 1 in Dallas, TX, and will be recognized by all of the participating organizations. For more information on EMS EXPO, visit www.emsexpoevents.com.
