Last year my department obtained a school bus from our local high school. The bus had already been painted white, had the seats removed and had shelves installed in it. The school used the bus to transport band equipment.

We have since converted the bus into a mass casulaty unit / rehab unit. It is capable of treating 24 backboarded patients and also carries a wide variety of medical equipment such as: Large burn kits, onboard oxygen system with mini-later system, and other assorted equipment. Rehab equipment includes, on-board refrigerator, water cooler/heater (with 40 gallons of fresh water), 20+ cases of gatorade bottles, powdered gatorade, cup-of-soups, tents, medical rehab supplies, and folding picnic tables.

I am interested on information on other such units that may exist. I also an interested in any inventory lists that could be sent by email to me.

Boog...

I used to work in the communications office at the Cincinnati/Northern Ky International Airporrt. Their F.D. operates a very large mass-casualty unit, capable of handling about 200+ patients. I'm certain that they would be glad to give you some info about it. Their phone is: 606-767-3111. Hope this helps...
