i have heard through word of mouth that laerdal is sponsering a free ( or very low cost ) AED program for volunteer fire &/or ems companies can participate in. However, no -one has any hard facts on the matter, nor can i find any hard evidence to back this up. Has anyone heard of this and if so where can i get more info on it?

thanks in advance

hey there, I haven't heard of that specific program, but Laerdal does infact have a web site; www.laerdal.com (http://www.laerdal.com) you may want to consider visiting... Additionally I know that Prudential Insurance does have a "matching" grant program for the purchase of AEDs... You might want to try them as well. I was able to get a Lifpak AED for my department through a donation by a local citizen looking to donate a large sum of money... Good Luck, Let me know how it works out for you.

When we purchased our AED about 5 years ago, Leardal provided an information package which helped us raise about half the money through donations. I don't know if they still provide this service, but maybe it would be worth checking into. Their site might indicate if this is still done. Good luck in this endevor.
