Looking for some help, we just opened bids for a new monitor, we had 2 bids from Zoll and Medtronic both 12 lead with NIBP and SPO2 and CO, with Zoll being the low bidder at $4000.00 difference. Need some input from users who have done field testing on both..

Thanks

Hey Jeff,

My squad recently went through this same deal in looking to purchase a new Monitor. Our options choices were a little different than yours.

Based on the hands on demo form both dealers I was quite impressed with the Zoll unit. Also the dealer for our area "sweetened" the deal by offering to keep us in pads & papre at no charge (for a squad that ends up replacing the majority of these pads due to them expiring - that was a good offer), however when all was said and done we opted to go with the LP 12 (mainly for compatibility issues with other county agencies).

Also - there is a fairly current discussion of the LP 12 in the ALS forums http://www.firehouse.com/forums/Forum52/HTML/000062.html
you might want to give that a read throuh if you haven't already.

Bottom line on the choice - don't look at price, look at features, service and ease of use. If it hadn't been for the fact that other Mutuial Aid squads already had LP 12's - I probably would have pushed for the Zoll.

Good luck with your purchase.
