Hey guys here a good one for you, I was looking the the Galls mag. today and came across the EMS clothes. After looking at the page I noticed that they carry and sell EMS Shorts. Is that not agains OSHA regs? I thought we had to wear pants due to Bloodborn Pathogens? Any comments or answers will help.
Thanks

I am not aware of OSHA's requirements of wearing pants only, but I don't know of any squad that would allow their personnel to wear shorts. However, I believe that those shorts are for EMS Bike personnel. I remember seeing those also, I am pretty sure that they were for Bike personnel.

The shorts are also for summertime. Especially in places like Arizona and such where the temp is always 100 degrees or more. We are allowed to where shorts here in the summer for stand-by events and yes bike patrols. There is no real difference in protection between pants or shorts. Pants will soak up blood. I just try to watch where I am kneeling, and I still have my bunkers if I were to need them.
