Can any one out there tell me what OSHA Standards a BLS unit falls under? For response and equipment needed.

Regarding OSHA standards for BLS units,
Your inquiry was based on equipment needed. Requirements vary from state to state as far as what equipment is to be kept on the rigs. I reside in Massachusetts where I work part-time as an EMT-B. There are certain things we are authorized to do that our neighboring states cannot (New Hampshire, Maine, etc..)
So check with your state's OEMS for required equipment.
As far as OSHA, there are items which must be carried on board for personal protection. A BLS ambulance operating under normal conditions (2 person crew) must have 2 respirators, a minimum of 6 pairs of gloves, appropriate clothing and eye protection (OB kit, surgical masks/faceshields), the NIOSH guide to chemicals, and the latest Emergency Response Handbook.
As I mentioned, requirements vary from state to state. OSHA's main function is to ensure the worker's safety. Therefore every situation must be adapted to to stay in compliance.
Hope some of this helps. Any questions, feel free to email me anytime.
