Working under the assumption that if I have it, I won't need it, I'm looking to purchase a fairly full-featured EMT-B bag for my car. I'm probably going to purchase one that is pre-filled with most of the stuff, and I can add in a few extras from our EMS closet.

Who has the best prices on this stuff? Galls is ok, but I had also considered getting a small O2 cylinder, as well. Thanks!

I am not a fan of keeping this stuff in your car because you are carrying a huge liability upon yourself, especially oxygen bottles, but here is a company I am very satisfied with:

EMP Medical Products (http://www.buyemp.com)

I would just hate to be somewhere, need the equipment, and not have it. I will probably forego the O2 bottle, but the other stuff comes in handy if I'm helping at church with first aid for some event.

I carry a small BLS jumpbag in both my car and my fiancee's. I'll admit that luckily I haven't had to use them yet but it's nice for myself in case I go straight to the scene of an MVA or medical call. As far as the O2, there is a big debate. Is carrying the O2 kit needed. Weigh the pros and cons before you begin to carry it.

Yahoooo... Don't carry anything (with the possible exception of a face mask and gloves.) It's far more fun to play Magyver(sp)if needed. And if you carry a jump bag, you'll never use it.:p

Personally I use my personal jump kits quite abit.
Whether it's coming up on a 10-50 or going straight to scene of an EMS run. As for whether or not to carry one.....it's up to each person's opinion.

We also use EMP as a supplier for stuff. I carry a O2 tank, combi-tube and defibrillator in my First Responder jump kit

Galls/Dyna Med (Ripped me off many times, have never filled an order correctly... Are responsible from my current Firehouse ID [Oushore]by spelling [Dushore] Wrong on ordered T-Shirts and Jackets; I ordered an orange maxi medic bag and they sent a blue mini medic bag... TWICE; and then finally sent an orange bag, yet still a mini bag.. I finally settled for a blue maxi medic bag after 8 weeks of fighting over the non-english speaking customer service.. My opinion is they are a bunch of Morons who really don't have a clue at all...!!!)

Word of advice: You might want to look into your state's laws regarding the O2 tank...don't quote me on this, but, when I was a student, I think I remember my EMS instructor saying something about carrying an O2 tank in your personal vehicle being illegal. Like I said, I am not sure on this, please don't take my word for it, and do some checking. I just wanted to give you a heads up. :) Good luck!

I carry a small "back pack" purchased @ a local K-Mart. For several years now, I'm happy to report never having to use it except for headaches & boo boo's.

I've also carried O2 with me, only had to pull it once (for my father in-law). I do lot's of travel, mostly with a group of wet suit wearing, small pond, green water, high on life scuba enthusiasts & take comfort knowing it's there in the boonies should it be needed.

But jiffy got me thinkin' now? Is it legal?

I used to not have a problem with Galls/Dyna Med but the last time they shipped my order and forgot to include an item. I've always had good service from Moore Medial and Common Cents Ems supply (www.savelives.com).
