I was wondering how one would start a union for EMS workers here. On the average, EMT-B's get paid $6.75 hour and EMT-P's atart around $8.50. This is a rediculous number that I think anyone would have to say is unbeleiveable. I am soon going to be a certified EMT-B and I will love the job I do, but nobody can live on that kind of money. I think the government needs to step in and fund the counties or something and support the people who do public safety.

There are several unions that would be interested in working with you. Check out NEEON.com and contact them for more info. They are groupf of labor unions that represent paramedics. They just helped Austin, TX unionize with IAEP.
