How many people smoke out there?? And when did you start??

I don't smoke that often, it goes it spurts. I probably smoke 6-8 months out of year. I still consider myself a smoker, but I usually smoke off and on. I started after Basic Training to "fit in" and smoke when I have a stressful event(s) and usually last 1-2 months after that event, then decide to quit again. I have been smoking for about 9 years.

Weak, yes I know. Any others willing to admit to it??

I smoked cig's while in college, but got to Jump School and got religion. BTW that was nearly 30 yrs ago.
I'm not averse to indulging in a nice cigar every once in a while though!

You know, there's no room in your poll for people who smoke less than 1/2 pack/day and have never smoked more, or for people who smoke cigars or pipes!

I was lucky enough to avoid that vice. Who needs nicotine when there's a coffee shop on every corner? :D

I smoked a bit in high school, and after recruit training in the marine corps for about 4 years. I quit for a year, got divorced and smoked for another 2 or 3 and have been pretty much smoke free since. The only time I pick one up now is if it gets bad. I smoked a 1/2 pack from 9/11/01 till about the beginning of December and I've had one after a few crappy calls. Other then that I'm a cigar man...Arturo Fuente and CAO. And at work Macanudo's I can finish em' without cutting them off.

I started smoking in 6th grade, Pall Mall straights (no filter, for the young ones) As the saying goes, "If your gonna be stupid you gotta be tough"

I smoked a pack a day until 2 yrs ago. I do enjoy an occasional cigar while fishing. Or a nice cuban, CC on the rocks, and a little B&B for dipping!!!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
