Hey Everyone just a quick question. Does any one on here have carpal tunnel syndrome? I found out 2 1/2 months ago that I have it in my left hand and wrist. I went to see a hand surgeon 2 wks ago and he gave me a cortisone shot. Since then the pain has come back and now i have more numbness in it that I had before. The bad thing is Ill be starting EMT-I school next month. Im probably facing surgery. So if any of you have it or know other providers who have it let me know what you or they have done to treat it

Thanks,

We had a Medic with arthiritis really bad and he was still an excellent Medic. Don't know about Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Keep us informed so that we can answer this question in the future to someone else.

Thanks!!

Oh I think I can help with this.

I am an occupational health technician.
translates into I do absolutely nothing and get paid for it.

Actually I deal with work related injuries and one big one
is Carpal Tunnel. The guys here have had success with the
cortizone shots, Physical Therapy, and they have also had
success with a non-surgical decompression. Of course sometimes
the only course of action is surgery. Your best bet is to talk
to your doctor about your options.
