You have just completed what I thought was the hardest part of this job...starting IV's. It took me a long time to get use to sticking people. Everything else is a cakewalk!!

Good Luck!!

Ok , Im confused. So you need IV training before you start an intermediate class? In minnesota the I class has IV training in it. Why would you take that class before and or why would you have to pass it in order to get accepted in ?

Thats just the way they do things in the county I volunteer in. Before you can even take the IV Tech class you have to be 18 yrs old, an EMT for at least 6 months to 1 year or have 75 documented calls. Then you have to take BTLS before you can take the pre test for the IV class. For me the IV tech class was easy becuase I used to work in a Level I Trauma Center and I got to stick ppl. Any way tc ss
