Let me know what you think of our EMS page. Feel free to leave your suggestions in our guestbook. I'm always looking for suggestions on how I can improve it or just change things around.
Thanks!

I have several problems with it, if you're intending to use it as your department's official webpage. it's a good start, and shows that you are willing to actually make a website for your department, but if you want to be taken seriously as a public safety professional agency, I would make the following changes:
1) The "Welcome to our EMS Page" thing that follows the mouse is both unprofessional and annoying. get rid of it. my squad has the same one, and it's equally annoying.
2) you have a valentine's day theme on it. it shouldn't be there.
3) many of your images (news, star of life, e-mail me) have white backgrounds. they should be transparent backgrounds instead, so you don't have the whte box on the colored background.
4) the overflowing blood animated gif is just icky.
5) it's all one page. break it up into several pages. a main page, an officer's page, a links page, and a pictures page. it will made it look better, easier to navigate.
6) The title of the page needed to be corrected. it shouldn't say correctems's page, but rather "Folcraft EMS"
7) as a general rule, stay away from animated gifs (although I kinda like that EKG reading )
Those are my opinions only. and if it's not your department's official page, then you can put whatever you want on it.
however, if it is your department's official page, keep in mind the following:
1) keep in mind you are representing a professional organization. and you need to be professional.
2) you want your website to be timeless and easy to update. that means you don't want to have to totally redo it every couple of weeks.
3) people will judge you based on your site. if you are going to use it to attract new people, how are they going to think when they view it? will they want to join?
4) spend the money on a real URL (ie, http://yourEMSagency.com). it's more professional than geocities, and easier to publicize.
if you want to check out the site that I webmaster, go to http://www.station25.com and look at the site layout. just click on the navigation bar and see how the site is organized. or check out http://www.kentland33.com, or even http://www.southriverrescue.org. some of the stuff on the site is a little advanced, but just examine the look and feel. now, which site do you think would be more appealing to a potential applicant?
btw, all three sites represent organizations that are 100% volunteer. The latter two were professionally designed, but that's the look you should be going for. PM me if I can help out any more.

A) I couldnt see any pics of any vehicles, the link I clicked on didnt work.
B)Needs a table of contents somewhere, like along a side or something... but it is a start.
