I Dont know if any ems services here in the U.S use this kind of thing but I want one. This picture was actually taken when i was visiting my family who still live in the north east of england.

SWEET!!!
Stop, Google time.
After a few minutes humming to MC Hammers 'Hammer Time' as I Googled this is what I found...
As far as U.S. motorcycle EMS goes, the first site I found credits Dayton Beach Fire with having the first EMS Motor units. From- http://www.bikerenews.com/Stories/emtonmotorcycles.html
Daytona Beach was the first city in the United States to use motor medics, King said. The city is regularly overwhelmed with tourists during spring break, the Daytona 500 race and Bike Week.
Another site, http://motormedic.web-log.nl/ , claims that Nantucket, Mass. is the first to use them. That is if you don't count New York using them back in the 1930s.
And I even found Motor Medics in Isreal at- http://www.hatzolah.org.il/e-motorcycles.htm where the Hatzolah's Emergency Motorcycle Unit is shown using a BMW bike with "Roll Cage".
Pretty cool stuff.

Peng, a lot of UK Ambulance Services use "rapid response" units to augment their patient carrying vehicles. The service uses bikes like the one seen, cars and some services which have hard to access small streets even have paramedics on mountain bikes. All in all they are a great way to speed up response times and get life saving drugs and treatments to patients.

Miami-Dade County Fire-Rescue runs motorcycle squads. They were running on-and-off as part of a trial with several donated BMW motorcycles over the past year or two. They run in pairs, with a LT and a FF, as one unit. I believe they are only BLS due to space constraints on the BMW's, but Harley Davidsons are going to be purchased soon. The extra space will be used for ALS equipment I'm told...
I hear from my friends back down there that the program has been pretty successful, and works great for MVC's in traffic. They had just gone in service before I left a year or so ago, and were on sort of a "swing" schedule during rush hours.
