We use the Stryker MX Pro cots and are wondering if anyone has any experience with using the Ferno LBS on the Stryker. We would prefer to have something like the LBS versus having a whole bariatric cot. Anyone have any experience? Thanks..

If you're going to provide bariatric transport, either do it right or don't do it. Go Stryker or go home.

I don't disagree with you on doing it right or don't do it, but we have a few regular pt's that are large girth but not close to the max weight limit of the cot. We are looking to "wideload" our cot.. seems like Ferno has the right idea with the LBS addition.. but there is no way we are switching to Ferno cots, as we are buying the power Strykers this year.
Stryker has no addition like the LBS, so I am wondering if the Ferno LBS fits on the Stryker or can be retrofitted, or has someone else designed something for the Stryker?

Sorry to hear you are going to the powered Strykers(so are we), but they are better than the Ferno!

If Stryker don't make it, don't try to retro fit it. I'm sure you can understand the legal aspect of a failure of the stretcher with a part not made or authorized by Stryker.

Thats great, if you have the resources or ability to man a specific vehicle just for that purpose. Lets face it, not everyone can, thats what makes the Ferno LBS such a great option. The LBS can be placed with a supervisor so it can be delivered to whoever needs it at the time. Also, the lift handles are extra on the Stryker but are standard on the Ferno. No question that the Stryker power stretcher is the better of the two for now( whoops, DeWalt is discontinuing the 24V batteries this year) but for the majority of agencies I feel that the Ferno LBS system is more economic and practical.

thanks for the reply Firemedic- I guess the answer is to pressure the powers that be to buy a bariatric stretcher.. oh well, I really thought that someone would have already designed other alternatives than the two we have talked about.. thanks again..
