Global EMS Opportunities?

I've always wanted to travel, but especially into areas that are in need of humanitarian assistance. Being an EMT-B, does anyone know of any opportunities where I could practice EMS in regions of the world (particularly Africa)? I'd rather not just build houses and supplying water/etc (not saying that I wouldn't wouldn't do something like that, rather use my training)?

yea that would be a cool affiliation or job, get called to be sent out to natural disaster areas or the like as EMS. I am sure it would be dangerous but it would be interesting.

there was a thread a while back about Guatemala ems volunteer. helping teach ems to the locals. i think it is in the highlands. i usuallly travel to the peten district, the rainforest area, otherwise i would have checked into it. don't quote me, but i believe the email contact was:

actually i have been planning on checking into mexico ems. vacation down south of cancun once or twice a year for a week or two and then maybe shoot over to guatemala. cool place. lots of opportunity in mexico, but naturally they take locals first.
