A 23-year-old woman killed two fellow students with a .357 revolver in a classroom at a vocational college yesterday, then committed suicide, police said.
The women apparently were shot in their seats in the second-floor classroom at Louisiana Technical College, Baton Rouge Police Sgt. Don Kelly said. About 20 people were in the emergency medical technology class at the time, he said.

This is the exact reason I refuse to work with partners that I find to be unstable. I recently had an EMT-Basic partner who 'blew up at me' for just suggesting that he do something a little differently than he did. I told my employer, after filling out the proper incident report, that I would no longer work with this individual. I explained that I didn't feel it necessary to place myself in a hostile environment knowingly for extended periods of time. The management got a little upset with me, stating that I had to learn to work with difficult people. I can handle difficult people just fine. What I can't handle is a person blowing his top and screaming at me for no good reason. To top it all off, this EMT was a brand new employee who had moved to our state from another and of course has seen and done everything already.
I can't understand why our management even hired this guy. He has piercings everywhere. He is abrasive with everyone. At the time of this writing, I have heard from no less than ten other medics who have all complained about this individual for very similar reasons. It's these people who give our profession the black eye that keeps us from being considered the professionals that we are.
