To whoever is able to help:
First of all I would like to clarify that I am not looking for any kind of career in the EMS field. I already go to school full time and work in the field of graphics.
I am located in the San Fernando Valley, CA.
What are my options if I want to be ready to help someone in case of an accident or any kind of situation that calls for an EMT? I would appreciate any input. Thank you.

I would suggest instead of looking at EMT classes, you instead take CPR and First Aid at a recognized training facility accredited by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or National Safety Council.
Taking an EMT class may give you more knowledge, but without medical direction and the right equipment, you won't be able to do much more than CPR and First Aid before help arrives anyway.
If you are going to be in the wilderness or otherwise remote from medical assistance, that's another issue...

I agree with you about the CPR and First Aid classes, but if there is an EMT program that I can fit into my schedule, I would definitely want to know about it because I am definitely going to be spending lots of time in the wilderness in the near future. Thank you for any input.

Instead of enrolling in a standard EMT class, I would recommend NOLS Wilderness Medical Institute (http://www.nols.edu/wmi/) or Wilderness Medical Associates (http://www.wildmed.com).
They offer both WFR (Wilderness First Responder) and WEMT (Wilderness EMT) classes. You do not have to be a FR or EMT first, the class prepares you for the licensing exams. They do also offer a EMT to WEMT class (which is usually the same as the WFR class).
