Comments regarding suburban Philadelphia private EMS companies? I'm currently looking for a decent company to work for. Feel free to PM me.

If you are talking out of city, the two I see most often are AMR and Keystone. Never seen a unit that is equipped with decent supplies. All the private non-hospital EMS around montgomery county is strictly transport and not really 911. When I roll in at abington it pains me to see their equipment. I would recommend starting part time with a municipal service (I know plymouth is hiring) or go work for JEFFstat in the city, they are awesome.

Sorry so late. I do not work privates but I would try Jeffstat or Temple Transport (EMT'S hired I believe through AMR). I work as a Paramedic in Bucks and I believe Newtown Ambulance may hire, not sure though. Good luck.

Go to www.sars.org (second alarm rescue squad, not the disease), and click on employment. It's a 911 provider to the area, I believe. I found the site while I was looking for options for side work for a friend in Allentown. I don't know anything about this organization personally, but it's worth checking out.

Also, if you're looking for side work, check any major hospital for an ER tech position. Typically, you only need EMT-B, but some may want you to have your medic. I think the general category would be nursing support, or clinical support, when searching job openings on a hospital's employment section.

cross the river into NJ, esp the Trenton/Mercer County area. most will pay better than in philly area, and they have lots of 12 hour day shifts open

PM me if you would be interested, I know of several that are looking.
