Hope this isn't too late, I just came across this. I work for a private in the south suburbs of Chicago and we have an actual bariatric cot made by Stryker which is much wider than a standard cot and has a 1600lb (I believe) weight limit when at half height. The capacity goes down to somwhere between 750lb and 800lb when at full height. It has extra handles on the sides for lifting, and can be equipped with a winch hook on the back. Since it is wider than a standard cot it is easier for two personnel to help lift in into the ambulance at the foot end. We had a bariatric rig also but it was decomissioned before I could ever get to use it. I do believe it had a winch in the pt. compartment and a ramp on the back.
