Hi all! I just started schooling to become a emt-p. I know that getting a job in a good district seems to be highly political. Is there anyone out there that can give me any advice about how to get a job that is in a good district? My concerns are that I will be 41 when I get my license and I know it seems to be a young mans game out there (even though Im in good shape). Im very interested in the ff/medic aspect. Would it be good for me to try to get the ff part while Im going for medic or is it better to wait and try to get on somewhere that will help me get into the fire academy? One last thing.....Is there any other courses I should take to make me more appealing to a potential employer? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you are a little more specific about the area you're interested in, that might help some on here provide some advice. It varies from state to state, city to city, county to county.
