Minimum Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent;
- Graduate of an accredited paramedic program
- Must Have Five years experience as a practicing emergency medical technician.
- Must be able to Maintain National Registry Paramedic and State Lincensure prior to beginning employment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CMA required courses of NIOSH(National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) for Spirometry Certification, CAOHC (Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation) Certification, ABLS (Advanced Burn Life Support) Certification and attend and complete the Toxic Chemical Training Course for medical Support Personnel.
- Must be able to complete all on-site required training course as outlined in the Training Matrix for Medical Personnel
- Must be ACLS certified.
- Must be PHTLS or BTLS certified
- Must be able to obtain and maintain UAP certification
- Must be a U.S. or Naturalized Citizen
Job Description:
Washington Demilitarization Company, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of URS is currently seeking a Paramedic to be based in our Anniston, AL office
Typical Responsibilities Include:
- Provides first aid and emergency medical services to plant personnel.
- Provides heat stress monitoring and pre-entry and post-entry evaluations according to established protocols and standing orders.
- Executes chemical casualty care protocols as necessary.
- Maintains an inventory of medical supplies including maintaining emergency response vehicles and equipment associated with medical emergency response.
- Maintains medical logs and records including entry into data bases required by Safety and PMCD.
- Assists the Medical Director and Nurse Practitioners in performing medical and occupational health examinations. This involves venipunctures and specimen collections, performing audiometric, vision, spirometry testing, EKG's, vital's and triage assessments.
- Participates in drills the Medical Section participates in and assists with emergency response activities.
- Provide CPR, first aid and toxic aid training.
- Timely identification of training requirements to maintain required licensure, clinical credentials, and certifications.
- Attend monthly safety meetings, demonstrate safe work practices, and promote an employee ownership safety program.
- Follows medical standing orders in accordance with State Licensure, National Registry and approved scope of practice by the ANCDF Medical Director.
