Rescue Tech Coordinator
The Rescue Tech Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the initial and recertification occupational extensional course offerings for the college. This person will act as liaison with GTCC Fire Protection Technology and Emergency Preparedness Technology curriculum programs, GTCC Fire Occupational Extension programs, Guilford County Emergency Services, Greensboro and High Point Fire Services, Guilford County Law Enforcement agencies, and the NCCCS Regional Coordinator for Fire/Rescue. Hiring and evaluation will be conducted in concert with all service agency input.
The Rescue Tech Coordinator is responsible for classroom instruction including: a demonstrated proficiency in teaching, responding to student needs, classroom management, curriculum course management, demonstration of professionalism, cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, and support of the college administration.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Fire Protection Technology or related emergency services field. Transcripts must meet standards of one of the regional accrediting bodies as recognized by the Council for Higher Education (CHEA), i.e., Southern Association of Colleges & Schools, etc., as applicable.
- Pro Board or IFSAC certified or qualified in: Fire Fighter II, Fire Fighter Instructor, RT VMR, RT Rope, RT instructor.
- Seven (7) years fire and rescue experience required.
- Trench, confined space, water, collapse rescue experience required.
- Firefighter safety and survival experience required.
- Community College teaching or training experience preferred.
- Management, supervision and leadership experience preferred.
- Valid NCDL & Class B Driver's License required within 30 days of employment.

Appointment Period: Contracts for regular positions are renewable each June 30th after successful completion of probationary period |
