Jeff State paramedic
The number one problem with the Jeff State paramedic program is the students were not taught to the national standard. They were taught to Alabama protocols, an example of this is the students were only taught 18 of the drugs we can carry in the state. It was also made known to the students not to worry about learning any procedures the could not preform in Alabama.
The only way Jeff State is going to increase the pass rate for national registry is to teach to the DOT standard and make sure the instructors are current in DOT standards.

National Registry Exam
The institution should not be alarmed by this! The National Registry exam is a test of "what if" questions that are more geared toward an expierienced provider. It is an unfair test of a newly graduated paramedic and/or EMT intern. You can teach the DOT standard and still have a poor pass/fail rate on this exam. The teaching method doesnt need changing the test does!
