WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. --

A West Palm Beach toddler took a three-story tumble out her apartment's window and survived.

Michelle Martinez is 1 and a half years old, and like most walking-age toddlers, her mother said she gets into everything.

On Friday afternoon, Michelle was on her parents' bed when her father said she gave him the worst scare of his life.

Neighbor Awilda Rivera was by her car when she said she saw the child fall from the window.

The girl had pushed out the window screen, fell three stories and landed in bushes. She landed just several inches away from a metal transformer.

The girl's father raced down the stairs, fearing the worst. He said he didn't know if his daughter was alive.

Michelle was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center, where she was checked out.

She has no broken bones, doctors said, and no serious trauma.

Michelle left the hospital three hours after she arrived. One paramedic who was at the scene called the outcome a miracle.

Police were also at the scene, but said they don't plan to file charges against the parents. They said it all appears to have been an accident.
