The National EMS Memorial Service has announced the line of duty death of EMT Daryl Lahren of Kindred Ambulance in Kindred, North Dakota.

Lahren, 47, reportedly suffered a fatal heart attack after returning to base from a medical call June 25, 2009.

"He was a long time member of the Kindred Ambulance Service and his loss is profoundly felt among its members, his community and his family," NEMSMS reported.

According to his Boulger Funeral Home obituary, Lahren was not only active with the ambulance service but served as its president. He made his home in Fargo, ND and is survived by his wife, two daughters and additional family.

A funeral service is set for this Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church in Fargo. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
