A MedStar Ambulance emergency medical technician died Saturday while on duty at the company's Washington Park office.

George G. Schaub III, 23, of Belleville, died sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. Saturday while he was working a 24-hour shift at the company.

The cause of his death has not yet been released by the coroner's office.

Schaub was also a firefighter and explorer trainer for the French Village Fire Department. He had also been a member of the Villa Hills Volunteer Fire Department since he was 13.

Visitation for Schaub will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the George Renner and Sons Funeral Home in Belleville and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Belleville.
