Illinois EMT Honored at Funeral Service

Fire and emergency vehicles from more than 25 area departments were represented at the funeral for MedStar Ambulance EMT George G. Schaub III, 23, who died Saturday while on duty at the company's Washington Park office.

BELLEVILLE -- Fire and emergency vehicles from more than 25 area departments were represented at the Belleville funeral for a MedStar Ambulance emergency medical technician.

George G. Schaub III, 23, died Saturday while on duty at the company's Washington Park office.

Schaub also was a firefighter and explorer trainer for the French Village Fire Dept. He had been a member of the Villa Hills Fire Department since he was 13.

Firefighters and EMTs from the area attended the funeral services, held at Renner’s Funeral Home in downtown Belleville. After the service, the firetrucks followed the hearse and family members as they made their way through town for the burial at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Belleville.
