Burnsville, MN (May 1, 2008) -- EMS EXPO, known for its rich tradition of providing emergency medical responders with high-level education and the latest information from industry-leading experts and educators, has announced plans for its 20th Annual Conference and Exhibition. The event will feature the largest display of EMS products under one roof, with 450 companies showcasing the latest in fire, rescue and emergency medical equipment and technologies.
A variety of classes will be offered that address a wide range of interests and specialties, including preconference workshops and 3-day core conference tracks for administrators and managers, Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), disaster response and special operations, educator, pediatric and general audience. Attendance credit and continuing education hours have been approved by CECBEMS, which is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
EMS EXPO is pleased to co-locate with Firehouse Central and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) Annual Meeting, which will also include two preconference days and committee meetings. The event is supported by the National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA) and 25 national and international organizations, some of which will also host onsite meetings and receptions during the five-day conference. Members with NAEMT and NEMSMA are eligible for individual 3-day core conference discounts.
The 20th anniversary conference opening keynote will be delivered by actor and longtime EMS supporter Randolph Mantooth, who is best known for his role as Johnny Gage in the 1970s TV series "Emergency!" In addition to Mantooth, 40 subject matter experts will lead discussion and present information on a wide-range of over 100 different topics and preconference sessions directed to an audience of EMS and fire chiefs, managers, administrators, educators, instructors, medical directors and patient care providers, including nurses, paramedics, EMTs and first responders.
Registration, both online and by printed form, has been updated to include a new "EMS student" discount and a change from "squad" to "group" rate. Our new group rate provides either a 35% or 50% discount off the regular 3-day individual core conference price; a savings of either $125 or $175 per person. The previous squad rate was limited to members of a specific department or agency. The new group option is open to individuals who wish to form their own group and register at the same time. Two categories of discount are available: 3 to 5 people and 6 or more people. We realize your educational dollars must go farther, which is why we are offering expanded opportunities in conference discounts for more people who organize their own group or are affiliated with a membership organization -- the networking fabric of our industry.
