MARSHALL TOWNSHIP, Pa. --

In a plea agreement, the ambulance driver pleaded guilty to killing two men in a Sept. 23, 2007 crash on Thursday.

Shanea Climo, 22, allegedly was driving under the influence when she crashed her ambulance into another vehicle on Route 19 in Marshall Township.

Douglass Stitt, 38, of Mercer, and Phillip Bacon, 31, of Sharpsville, were killed in the crash.

She was driving an ambulance transporting a patient to the hospital when she ran a red light at an intersection. She had just turned on the siren seconds before crashing into their car.

She faces up to 14 years and 9 months behind bars but will spend 1-2 years in the county jail as part of her plea agreement.

"We're satisfied. We let this go for a long time, but she’s going to have to deal with it herself," said Mark Stitt, brother of Douglass Stitt.

"In some way it's the beginning of closure for me," said Deborah Bacon, mother of Phillip Bacon. "I've had a lot of sleepless nights. I'll have more. He was my only son, my only child."
