HOUSTON --

An ambulance rushing a patient to a hospital was hit by a pickup truck late Wednesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston police said the wreck happened on North Macgregor Way near South Braeswood Boulevard at about 10:45 p.m.

Investigators said the patient inside the ambulance was transferred to another ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital.

The pickup driver was also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition was not released.

Both the ambulance and pickup truck sustained significant damage.

Police have not said if the pickup truck driver would be ticketed.
